Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Gilbert, 54, announced in July that he was diagnosed with cancer, and would be receiving treatment at Velindre Cancer Centre.
Gilbert is the patron of Velindre Cancer Centre and has been a fundraiser for ten years.
Sian, his wife, announced on Twitter that Gilbert was hospitalized, but she withheld her explanation.
Sian said that the hospital A&E was totally jammed with people who were coughing and people were not wearing masks. She also added that she does not understand why was no one wearing a mask even though the sign clearly indicated so.
Gilbert appreciated the help he received throughout the past few weeks, months, and years. He said he would be concentrating on his health to get better and would not comment on things as of now.
Following his diagnosis, Gilbert has been undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery at the hospital. He recently said he was feeling "glad, upbeat, and optimistic."
