Comedian Peter Kay announces first stand-up tour in 12 years, but why did he take a break?

Comedy writer, and actor Peter Kay, in his recent tweet, revealed information about his upcoming stand-up comedy shows. The 49-year-old is officially set to return to the stage after 12 long years of break.

The comedian decided to keep a low profile after cancelling all of his 100 shows planned for a 14-month-long tour in 2017. He announced this after becoming the one and only comedian to have a residency in London’s famous Greenwich Arena.

Back then, Peter was one of the most renowned faces in the comedy scene. He has been featured in multiple TV serials as an actor, writer, and producer. Why did Peter Kay disappear?

Peter Kay, in 2017 announced that he would cancel all his tours, including the Dance For Life and Live Arena shows. In his statement, he said. “I regret to inform you that due to my family circumstances, I am forced to cancel all my upcoming events. This also includes my upcoming stand-up tour, my apologies to all my fans.”
