What guidance has the Church of Wales received for this day?

  • Churches with flags will fly them at half-mast and muffle the bell ringing.
  • Photos of the Queen to be displayed in churches, especially which were visited by her.
  • A Book of condolence is distributed, and people can also give their floral tributes in churches.
  • Most church activities are to be postponed, but it is a decision that ultimately depends on local authorities. Weddings, funerals, and baptisms can go on, but they should be mindful of the national loss.

Statement of Church of Wales:

Church of Wales said the news of the Queen's death is unfortunate. Church of Wales, like most other people, have lived and thrived under her reign, and they have known no other monarch in the United Kingdom. The Queen's dedication and commitment to the nation were extraordinary. On her 21st birthday, her pledge said she would dedicate her whole life to caring for the people. She never backed down from her vow and service; she did with utmost happiness. Whenever she was asked to address the nation, she spoke to the people, reminded them of their identity, and steered them towards a better future.
