Christmas Eve pub shooting: 22-year-old man gets charged with Elle Edwards’s murder

In a Merseyside pub shooting, a man has been charged with the murder of Elle Edwards. The incident had happened on Christmas Eve.

The accused, Connor Chapman, has been remanded in custody. He will also appear in court.

Chapman, who is 22 years old, has also been charged with three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and two counts of attempted murder. Chapman belongs to Houghton Road, Woodchurch.


At the Lighthouse Pub in Wallasey village on December 24, 26-year-old beautician Elle Edwards was shot in the head.

Merseyside Police had also confirmed that she was not the intended target of the shooting.

The accused has also been charged with possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life and handling stolen goods like Mercedes A Class and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, the Merseyside Police said.



A woman, who is 23-years-old, has been released on bail after she was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The law enforcement authorities are still appealing to witnesses or anyone who has any information regarding the case to contact them.

On Friday morning, Chapman was brought before Wirral Magistrates' Court.

In a brief hearing, Chapman, who had long and wavy brown hair and dressed in a gray, prison-issue tracksuit, spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.

He said that he has no fixed address while being flanked by two security officers in the dock.

Ahead of next appearance before Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, magistrates remanded him into custody.
