That's Life! star and BBC presenter Chris Serle passes away at the age of 81. Serle had a prosperous career in radio and television. His family has confirmed that he has passed away. Serle's family described him as a familiar and cherished figure on British television screens throughout the 1970s and 1980s in a statement provided to the BBC.

Working with Dame Esther Rantzen and other celebrities on the satirical consumer affairs program That's Life!, Serle first gained name and fame. Esther was very sad to hear that Chris Serle, one of her best-loved That's Life! reporters, has passed away. He was as nice off camera as he was in the studio on camera - funny, clever, charming, a very versatile presenter, as quoted in a report by Radio Times.

He was a producer when she met him, but it quickly became apparent that he possessed all the qualities of the best reporters. That's Life! viewers and listeners, as well as the many other radio and television shows he presented, will be just as sad.
