Chris Packham discusses partner Charlotte Corney's connection with his stepdaughter Megan

Conservationist Chris Packham, and Charlotte Corney first became acquainted in 2007 while Chris was visiting Charlotte's zoo on the Isle of Wight. Their relationship, which they have kept private, seems to be strengthening, as Chris revealed in an interview last year.

Chris and Jo McCubbin divorced fourteen years ago, but Megan McCubbin, his stepdaughter, who is now 25, has remained close. While her mother worked as a nurse on the front lines during the lockdown, she temporarily moved in with Chris at his New Forest home.

He recounted how Megan had a childhood interest in animals and how, when she first saw Charlotte, she met somebody who owned tigers and lions as opposed to the owls and snakes they had at home.


Megan then spent a great deal of time with Charlotte while working at the zoo.

According to him, she had been studying acting until that point, but the sanctuary caused her to experience an epiphany.



Chris also remembered his first encounter with Charlotte and how his Asperger's Syndrome affected him.

On the podcast The Different Minds, Chris talked about how much he liked Charlotte and wished to be in a relationship with her. Chris described the event as "intimidating and stressful" due to his Asperger's, even though it should have been quite simple. After five years of dating Charlotte, Chris finally told her about his Asperger's Syndrome after initially keeping it a secret.
