Following a sensational knockout victory on Saturday, Chris Billam-Smith is considering a global championship match at Vitality Stadium, the stadium of his cherished AFC Bournemouth.
After overcoming some early difficulty, British cruiserweight Billam-Smith halted Armend Xhoxhaj in the fifth round. He finished the Kosovan with a barrage of short jabs and a vicious right hook that sent his opponent lolloping to the mat.
Then, after receiving medical assistance, Xhoxhaj was thankfully able to rise.
Billam-Smith said after recording his second straight victory at the Bournemouth International Centre that he wasn't focused on enough at the start and did get caught with a few foolish strokes. Still, later, he made it work, adapted, and listened to the corner. He added that he was irritated because he shouldn't have been caught with those photos. He timed it perfectly, and although he could see it coming. In the end, he was unable to prepare.
