Chloe Mitchell case: Murder inquiry launched after suspected human remains found, two men charged
A murder investigation has been launched after suspected human remains were found by police as they searched for the missing woman, Chloe Mitchell in Ballymena.

Chloe Mitchell was reported missing on the evening of Friday, June 2. She was last seen on CCTV in the wee hours of the June 3 morning in the center of Ballymena. On Sunday night (local time), officers confirmed that a murder investigation had been launched after suspected human remains were found in the town following an extensive search operation in Ballymena.
As per media reports, forensic officers attended a flat in the James Street area of Ballymena on Sunday. The property was cordoned off by the police earlier that week.
Following the discovery of suspected human remains, Detective Chief inspector Richard Miller had reportedly said in a statement that although there was “no formal identification”, the officers had launched a murder inquiry into the disappearance of 21-year-old Chlose Mitchell who was a high-risk missing person.
Miller also said that earlier this week the police had launched a criminal investigation into the missing girl’s case but now they “have reason to believe that Cloe was murdered”.
