Chinese firm CATL inks agreement with SERES, ZEEKER for Qilin CTP batteries

CATL, the Chinese battery manufacturing company and one of the largest producers of electric vehicles, signed a five-year collaborative agreement with ZEEKER and SERES. The agreement announcement came with the information that both ZEEKER AND SERES, the EV manufacturers, will be having the already mass-produced Qilin batteries in their forthcoming EV models. The Qilin batteries are made on CATL’s third-generation ‘cell-to-pack’ mechanics and technology.

The upcoming model ZEEKER 09 model will be the first car in the world that will be powered by Qilin batteries. In other news, ZEEKER 001 will turn out to be the first Qilin battery-equipped model. From now on, all the SERES Aito models will also be powered by Qilin batteries.

The demand for Qilin batteries and Qilin technology-powered models is so high in the market as Qilin has a chart-buster utilization volume efficiency, with the percentages going up to seventy-two. Qilin batteries also have a great energy density ranging from 255Wh/kg. They have proven capable of delivering a range near to 1,000 km and even more, as they have the world’s highest system integration.


Another much-appreciated advantage of Qilin-powered models and Qilin batteries is its significant surface-based cooling mechanism. It achieves a five-minute hot start and extra fast charging time, starting at ten minutes.

The 5680 battery, although it has the same size and even chemical system, it still delivers 13 percent less power than Qilin batteries. The advantages of Qilin batteries, if summarized in some pointers, are:
