Chelsea appears to trigger RB Leipzig and France ace Christopher Nkunku's release clause following a medical which has already taken place, though the expenditure won't stop here, say reports.

Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Nkunku was closely associated with Chelsea over the summer. The Blues sought to overhaul numerous areas of their squad, with the forward line being no exception.

Eventually, Chelsea hired Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling. However, the Blues' troubles in front of goal have not diminished. For the upcoming Crystal Palace Clash over the weekend, talks of Graham Potter dumping Aubameyang in favour of Armando Broja are doing the rounds.

Players like Kai Havertz and Mason Mount haven't yet scored at the club level.

Nkunku's fantastic season at Leipzig made him a target over the summer. In 52 games, the French international scored an astounding 35 goals and provided 20 assists.
