Chelsea's Argentinian head coach Mauricio Pochettino (L) waits with Chelsea's Argentinian midfielder #08 Enzo Fernandez (R) on the touchline during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in London on October 21.
Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez, the Argentine World Cup winner, and his wife Valentina Cervantes have joyfully announced the birth of their second child. Enzo shared the news on social media, revealing that their new baby boy, Benjamin, arrived safely on the 26th of October, 2023. This heartwarming addition to their family comes three years after they welcomed their daughter, Olivia.

In a post on Instagram, Enzo shared several adorable photos of his family with the newborn and expressed his love for his son, saying, "Benjamin Fernandez, 26/10/23. I love you forever."

However, fans of Chelsea will notice Enzo Fernandez's absence in the lineup as they face Brentford at Stamford Bridge this lunchtime. The 22-year-old midfielder's absence is due to a reported muscle overload he has been struggling with in the lead-up to the match.

This marks the first top-flight match that Fernandez has not started since his arrival at Chelsea. It's a notable absence for the team as they aim to continue their strong performance in the Premier League, having accumulated seven points in their last three matches.

Enzo Fernandez's absence from the match is not the only setback for Chelsea today. Winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is also missing from the squad, leaving Mauricio Pochettino without two of the club's most expensive-ever signings. Pochettino has made three changes to the starting lineup for this game, with Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, and Noni Madueke returning.

Enzo Fernandez and Valentina Cervantes's love story began in 2019, and she has been by his side, following him from River Plate in their homeland to Portugal in 2022. However, their time in Portugal with Benfica was short-lived, lasting only about six months. Chelsea secured his services in January for a transfer fee of £107 million, just weeks after he played a pivotal role in helping Argentina achieve World Cup glory in Qatar.
