Chelsea mulling to sign Joao Felix in January transfer window: Reports

Reports say that Chelsea is trying harder to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

Reports say that Chelsea is thinking about making a crazy move by taking Joao Felix on loan in January. The 23-year-old forward for Atletico Madrid has only started five of the team's 13 league games so far this season. In 18 games, he has scored four goals and helped three others score. But he has had trouble living up to the £113 million price tag that Benfica put on him when he joined them in 2019.

Several teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Aston Villa, are looking for a cheap loan deal with the Portugal international. The Red Devils have looked into the possibility of getting Felix on a straight loan deal.

But reports say that the Blues have been quick to show their interest after starting talks about a possible move, which could start with a loan move. Even though Atletico don't need Felix anymore, they would rather have him on a permanent deal and value him at around £86m.

Todd Boehly is willing to give Graham Potter the tools he needs to improve Chelsea's team in January because he believes in the 47-year-old manager. Getting Felix would go a long way toward showing that. It is thought that the American billionaire is ready to incorporate an obligation-to-buy clause in the loan agreement, which would oblige Chelsea to pursue a permanent transaction if the requirements of the agreement are met.
