Channel 4's Krishnan Guru-Murthy off air for a week. Here's why

Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4 swore at Steve Baker, the Tory minister, following which the channel took the presenter off the air. Channel 4 said all its employees must follow a strict code of conduct, taking any breaches very seriously.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy tweeted that he used an offensive word off the air after his full interview with Baker and apologised for it.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy believes he breached his standards and went below the belt. He added that he had reached out to Baker to apologise.

Krishnan had booked leave for a week and would not be back before November 4. Baker spoke to a radio channel and said it would be service to the public to sack Murthy when he is found guilty of breaching the code of conduct.

Steve Baker added that he had given an interview to a journalist for whom he does not have much regard. Baker called out the journalist when he thought the journalist was twisting a situation.

The journalist did not like that. However, it was unfortunate that he swore, and Stevie Baker hoped the channel sacked him. Later, Steve Baker accepted the apology on Twitter and appreciated the presenter's gesture.
