Broadcaster Anne Diamond discloses breast cancer diagnosis
Renowned TV presenter Anne Diamond revealed that she is suffering from breast cancer. She also disclosed that she has already undergone a double mastectomy in her ongoing battle against breast cancer.

Starting her career in regional news, Diamond achieved recognition while working for ITV and the BBC. She became a prominent figure in daytime television during the 1980s and 90s, hosting shows such as BBC One's Good Morning With Anne and Nick, TV-am's Good Morning Britain, and TV Weekly.
Diamond joined GB News in 2022 as a host for weekend breakfast shows alongside Stephen Dixon. However, she has been off the air for the past six months. In an interview with GB News's Dan Wootton, Diamond shared that she underwent a double mastectomy in her ongoing battle against breast cancer. She referred to her journey as a "long journey" and expressed her determination to return to work despite still being in the midst of treatment.
Diamond disclosed that she received the news of her breast cancer diagnosis on the same morning she was informed via email about being awarded an OBE for her campaigning efforts against cot deaths. Diamond and her former husband, Mike Hollingsworth, tragically lost their son Sebastian to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in 1990. Diamond collaborated with the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (now known as the Lullaby Trust) and the Department of Health to launch the successful Back to Sleep campaign. She was recognized with an OBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List for her contributions to public health and charity.
Recalling the momentous morning, Diamond shared that she initially planned to attend a breast cancer screening appointment after receiving the OBE notification. However, the screening revealed the seriousness of her condition.
Diamond acknowledged the extensive medical procedures she underwent, including biopsies, X-rays, CT scans, mammograms, and a nine-hour long mastectomy surgery. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for her current health status, emphasizing that she understands the experiences of numerous other women facing breast cancer and hopes to offer empathy rather than advice.
