Nigerian Afrobeats singer Asake was to perform at Brixton Academy in London on December 17 at 19:00 GMT. Smaller groups of people entered the venue in time. Asake performed some songs. But an update released from the singer’s Twitter account said, “Please do not come to Brixton Academy if you do not have a valid ticket.”

As confirmed from the videos posted on social media, Asake performed on the stage. After completing a few songs, he announced that the show must end then and there. A more precise explanation followed his announcement by a staff member. He said there were some 3,000 people outside who had breached the door. Hence, they must vacate the venue for the safety of every individual. He made a promise to refund the ticket price.
There has yet to be a confirmation on the timing of these events. The Police stated that the authorities called them at 21:30 GMT.
