Britain's throne: Check out the line of succession
After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles has taken over the throne. There is a set protocol through which succession of the throne takes place. Prince Charles has become King Charles III.

After serving Britain's throne for the longest period, Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Queen breathed her last at the age of 96, and she served the throne for historic 70 years. Immediately after the monarch's death, Prince Charles, the Queen's eldest son, became the new king. Notably, there are protocols that govern the line of succession and who would take over the throne after Prince Charles's reign. And as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced to take up their royal duties again, they would remain in the line of succession, along with their two kids.
Following the protocol, Charles, who has become King Charles III by succeeding her mother, Queen Elizabeth II. The wife of King Charles III, Camilla, has become Queen Consort. After King Charles III, his eldest son, Prince William, will be the first in the line of succession. William has been granted the titles of Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge. William's wife Katherine has become Princess of Wales.
