The director of the 2022 film ‘Bones and All’ is based on a novel by Camille DeAngelis of the same name, and was interviewed recently, where he revealed many things about his perception of the movie.

The ‘Call Me by Your Name’ director was recently interviewed, where he spoke about the movie and the audience's reception. He stated the audience should first think of the film as a dark fable about trying to flourish with love.
Luca Guadagnino's previous film ‘Call Me by Your Name’ could also be thought to fall in the same genre as ‘Bones and All’, a horror-inflected romance. The former was a commercial and critical success.
When asked if the choice of genre was deliberate, Guadagnino replied by saying that he didn't think of the genre of the film while making it.
He further revealed that initially, he was not planning to make the film. Lucan then added that when he first read the script, he did not think of the movie as horror; instead, he thought it a beautiful love story between two burdened and disenfranchised humans.
