Black Adam ending explained: How does Dwayne Johnson's superhero alter future of DC Extended Universe?

The actor-wrestler Dwayne Johnson has been focusing on "Black Adam" for a considerable amount of time; in fact, he was first considered for the part more than 15 years ago.

But Teth-Adam (Johnson) has now taken off in order to alter the power structure in the DC Extended Universe, as the actor has emphasised in the weeks leading up to the movie's Friday release.

Teth-Adam, who shares some abilities with Shazam (Zachary Levi), approaches super heroism very differently. Mostly because he isn't hesitant to go over the line and kill opponents to protect the Kahndaq people. While he is not quite as nasty as Superman, he is not far from it either.


The "Black Adam" narrative isn't particularly intricate. According to the plot of the film, Black Adam was a youthful slave who rose up in rebellion against a cruel monarch who made his slaves mine for Eternium so he could make a crown out of it. The movie then plays with two distinct versions of Black Adam's past. The wizard Shazam and other magical elders transform the child slave into a champion, though, preventing his execution.



All of that is true, but the movie tries to trick the audience into thinking that the new Black Adam is still the youngster who has been turned. But it turns out that the boy gave his talents to his father, Teth-Adam, after the king killed the boy's mother.
