Bear Grylls on secret operation to recover Pippa Middleton's brother-in-law' Michael Matthews' body from Mount Everest
Bear Grylls shared he was on a mission to retrieve Michael Matthews' body following an accident on Mount

Michael met with a mountaineering accident in 1999 and died hours after becoming the youngest Brit, at age 22, who climbed the top of the world's tallest peak. Bear set the previous record a year earlier when he reached the summit at 23. In a discussion with the Oxford Union Society, Bear Grylls revealed that he had led a mission in an attempt to retrieve the body of the brother-in-law of a friend. The latter had climbed the Mountain but never returned after meeting with an accident.
He said they had the best team in the world, and they tried pretty hard. Earlier this year, Michael's brother Spencer Matthews was making a documentary about his brother's story with support from the rest of his family.
A source revealed that Spencer's documentary about Michael and Disney+ is interested in the project. The documentary is about Michael's final days but was in the very early stages. It is a hugely emotional project for Spencer, who is hugely passionate about the work.
