BAFTA Film Awards: Will 'Oppenheimer' be the big winner?
Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, is the frontrunner at the BAFTA Film Awards. Cillian Murphy and Emma Stone are expected to win acting awards. The awards will take place on Sunday at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Ian Sandwell, movies editor at Digital Spy, suggests that while "The Zone of Interest" may receive local support due to its subject matter about a family residing near Auschwitz, "Oppenheimer" is likely to sweep most of the wins due to its strong showing across all categories.
Having dominated the Golden Globes with five wins and leading nominations for next month's Academy Awards, "Oppenheimer" is anticipated to vie for best film alongside contenders like "Poor Things," "Killers of the Flower Moon," "Anatomy of a Fall," and "The Holdovers."
Tim Richards, founder and CEO of Vue International, asserts that "Oppenheimer," helmed by Nolan, a highly respected director in the industry, is a strong contender for best film and director categories.
Starring Cillian Murphy as the American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the film has Murphy and Stone as frontrunners for the leading acting categories. However, supporting actor predictions are less certain, with Sandwell suggesting a potential surprise win for Paul Mescal for his role in "All of Us Strangers."
Despite being the highest-grossing film of 2023, "Barbie" received only five nominations, with Greta Gerwig notably omitted from the director category, raising questions among industry insiders.
The BAFTAs will take place on Sunday at London's Royal Festival Hall.
