Young, known for his experience and defensive abilities, has been a key player for Everton throughout the season.
In a dramatic turn of events during the highly anticipated Merseyside Derby, seasoned professional Ashley Young faced an early exit just 37 minutes into the game after referee Craig Pawson brandished two yellow cards in quick succession. The 36-year-old Everton full-back's challenges on Liverpool winger Luis Diaz resulted in his dismissal, leaving the Toffees to battle with just ten men against their fierce rivals at Anfield.

Diaz's relentless pressure down the left flank forced Young into critical fouls, prompting the referee to take decisive action. However, this red card adds a rare mark on Young's otherwise commendable record, marking only his third dismissal in over 430 Premier League appearances.

As Young stormed off the pitch in apparent frustration, Everton manager Sean Dyche swiftly restructured his team to compensate for the numerical disadvantage. Opting for a more defensive strategy, Dyche substituted wingers Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil for Nathan Patterson and Michael Keane, aiming to secure a favorable outcome in the challenging away fixture.
