Aryna Sabalenka and Daria Kasatkina qualify for WTA Finals 2022

Daria Kasatkina regains her position in the Top 10 this summer. Since January 2019, this was the first time to do so, establishing a new high in her career as number 9 on August 8, 2022.

Aryna Sabalenka and Daria Kasatkina joined World No. 1 player Iga Swiatek, along with Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Caroline Garcia in the singles draw in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals 2022.

Sabalenka will be back for the second time at the season-ending tournament (in singles). She competed in the group stages in the year 2021. She, along with Elise Mertens, qualified in doubles in 2019.

On the other hand, Kasatkina made her debut by qualifying for the WTA Finals this season. She presented as an alternate in the 2018 Finals.


Sabalenka competed in two finals this season.

At the WTA 500 Porsche TGP (Tennis Grand Prix) held in Stuttgart and also at the WTA 250 Libema Open, which was conducted at ‘s-Hertogenbosch. She also reached two semi-finals at the WTA 1000 in Rome and the Western-Southern Open.

Kasatkina has won two tournaments this year to attain her place in Fort Worth.
