Apple iPhone iOS 16 to be released today! Check out features now

Apple will release its much-anticipated iOS 16 updates for iPhones today.

Apple has confirmed that iOS 16 will be issued to iPhones worldwide today. The users of this brand-new operating system will enjoy a new Lock Screen, enhanced messaging, and more extensive health functions, among the most significant upgrades in years.

Apple often delivers its iOS updates around 6 pm (BST), so we don't anticipate 2022 to be any different. Go to Settings > General > Software Updates to determine if your device is prepared to upgrade to iOS 16.

Due to the size of Apple's iOS downloads, the installation procedure may take a while to complete.


What are the new features in iOS 16?
The Lock Screen will receive a completely updated look. Thanks to Apple's complete system overhaul, users may now customize the colors, fonts, and styles. Additionally, it is possible to quickly add widgets to the Lock Screen so that you may view the most recent football results or check the local weather without ever unlocking the smartphone.

Apple has added the option to automatically mix favorite photos from the device's library, giving you a different look at night and in the morning.

Apple has also improved communications in iOS 16, allowing users to edit texts after they've been received. This implies that consumers have 15 minutes to make necessary revisions, allowing them to rapidly correct any embarrassing typos.

Along with editing, the update adds an option to completely undo and recall a message.

With the iPhone's motion sensors, the new Fitness app may now be used without an Apple Watch to estimate steps, distance traveled, and calories burned.

Will older models receive the update too?
With five devices not receiving iOS16, Apple is omitting certain older iPhones from the yearly updates for the first time. This is possible because the outdated processors powering these devices can't handle iOS 16's needs.

Unfortunately, you're out of luck and will need to upgrade to a more recent model if you own an original iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, or iPhone 7 Plus to take advantage of the most recent upgrades.
