Antony case update: Law student withdraws case against Manchester United winger

An accuser has withdrawn her case against Manchester United winger Antony. She has earlier accused Antony and an Internet personality Mallu Ohana of attacking in the rear seat of Antony's car. But there are other cases against the Brazilian star.

In a major development, that may give Manchester United winger Antony much-needed relief, a law student has reportedly withdrawn her case against the Man United star. Earlier, in a case filed with the police, Rayssa de Freitas claimed that she needed hospital treatment after being attacked by Antony and an internet personality Mallu Ohana in the backseat of Antony's Land Rover after a night out in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. The case has been dropped at the request of the law student.


Other cases against Antony


In another case, his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin has accused the Brazilian star of physical aggression towards her on many occasions. In a separate case, banker Ingrid Lana accused the World Cup ace of physical violence. She claimed that the alleged attack took place at Antony's Manchester home last October.


According to reports, one of the cases also allegedly took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Manchester on January 15. So, there are four cases against Antony.


Manchester United did know it before signing deal


According to media reports, the alleged incidents took place before Manchester United signed a GBP 85 million contract with the Brazil footballer. United also said that they carried out the background check before signing the deal, but they did not find any allegations. They further said that they came to know about the cases when these were published in the Brazilian media.

Talking to the reporter, he said that he had agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while he addressed the allegations made against him.
