A plane crashed into the forest shortly after take-off from Rochester Airport, leaving two people trapped inside. An eyewitness reported the aircraft leaving the airport in Chatham before crashing in the woodland nearby.
Emergency services were at the scene and were trying to rescue people still trapped in the aircraft. So far, no injuries have been reported. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has started an investigation. Scheduled flights have been stopped, according to the reports.
Kelvin Carr, the manager of Rochester Airport, said that a plane took off from the airport but landed somewhere else. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and he is unable to provide any additional information.
