After breaking up 50 years ago, the band is coming back for their final soundtrack.
Based on a 1970s demo recording by John Lennon, the song was completed last year by Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr. Sir Paul disclosed in a BBC interview that advanced AI technology played an essential role in extracting Lennon's vocals from an old cassette, providing a crucial element in the song's final production.
Scheduled to premiere on Thursday, 2 November at 14:00 GMT, Now And Then is a highly anticipated release for fans of the iconic British band The Beatles.
The song is set to feature on newly-remastered versions of the iconic band's Red and Blue albums, slated for release on 10 November. These compilations, originally unveiled in 1973, are widely regarded as some of the most influential greatest hits albums in music history, encompassing a comprehensive collection of The Beatles' timeless classics.
Originally penned by John Lennon, the final soundtrack is an apologetic love song, it carries sentiments of yearning and reflection addressed to an old friend or lover.
After Lennon passed away in 1980, his wife, Yoko Ono, entrusted the song to Sir Paul. It was on a cassette labelled "For Paul" that also contained early versions of Free As A Bird and Real Love - releases that played a significant role in The Beatles' Anthology project.
