At a reception organised by Queen Camilla, one of Buckingham Palace’s household members made certain racial remarks. Ngozi Fulani, a domestic abuse activist, reported that she was asked questions about her heritage and background.

Buckingham Palace has taken notice of this incident and stated that the erring member has apologised and resigned from her role.
Prince William and Kate Middleton spoke out after the incident and said there is no room for racial discrimination. Fulani, born in Britain, showed her exasperation towards the incident and recalled that she was asked about her nationality and her family’s origin.

The palace has issued a notice instructing every member of the royal household to uphold the values of inclusivity and diversity at all times. An invitation to personally meet and discuss all the elements involved in the incident is sent to Ngozi. The incident is currently under investigation. The Prince and Princess of Wales have also expressed their support for Ngozi and condemned the aide’s actions. They find it befitting for the aide to step down from her role.
