Since September 8, the day the Queen died, the Buckingham Palace has received over 50,000 messages and letters of condolences. The palace received a plethora of letters, artifacts and floral tributes. The palace took to Instagram and mentioned that since the Queen's death it had received over 50,000 cards and letters for the Royal Family, the Queen Consort, and the King. The day after the state funeral (September 20) of Queen Elizabeth, the correspondence daily reached up to 6,500.

Before the Queen's death, around 1,000 letters were received by the palace weekly. It included messages of goodwill and queries from the public. You could see the correspondence team going through and sorting the letters in some pictures made public by Buckingham Palace. The palace added they were thinking of her (the late Queen). The palace added that a correspondence team is sorting and replying to these messages. The National Records of Scotland (NRS) recently shared how the Queen died on September 8 at 3:10 pm at her castle in Balmoral.
