Sirin Murad, aged 25, a beautician by profession had slept off under the sun for some time, while on a holiday in Bulgaria. She woke up to find that her forehead felt a little sore. She didn’t think much of it at first, but later found that it crumpled up to look like plastic, especially while frowning. Murad has now started to spread awareness about the advantages of using sunscreen while being out in the sun.

She discussed the issue with her family and after much deliberations, decided not to go to the doctor. She was confident that this wouldn’t get any worse than what it already is. However, her skin peeled off on her face leaving patchy skin in various places, pink in some places and rest grey.

She advised people not to risk avoiding applying sunscreen before going out in the sun. The incident happened a month ago and her natural colour has more or less been restored. She could have contracted melanoma, a type of skin cancer if it had gone worse along with severe sunburns.
