A31 accident involving two lorries in Ringwood causes heavy traffic

The crash caused a traffic delay of 75 minutes at A338 Salisbury Road. However, the multiple-vehicle collision did not cause any injury to anyone.

A multiple-vehicle accident on November 1 forced drivers on the A31 in Hampshire to face heavy delays. The accident took place around 7:00 am in Ringwood. Drivers were left queued for five miles. As per Inrix, a traffic site, one lane was blocked due to the accident, and vehicles were queued for five miles, leading to "severe delays." The traffic site noted that two lorries and two cars were involved in the crash on A31 Poulner Hill Westbound at the A338 Salisbury Road.

Significant traffic congestion was reported on the A31. Inrix stated that eastbound traffic had resulted in congestion on the A338 as it moved toward Ashley Heath Roundabout. It added that delays of 40 minutes were experienced westbound, while delays of 75 minutes were witnessed heading westbound.

According to Highways England, one of the two lanes was shut on the A31 westbound between M27 and A338 after the collision. The lane was closed throughout the morning. It stated that recovery agents were enroute to the site of the accident. Hampshire Constabulary noted that the police received the information about the collision on the A31 at 7:05 am. However, the crash of vehicles did not cause injuries.
