As the temperatures continue to drop, thousands more households in England and Wales will start receiving Cold Weather Payments soon. When the temperature drops to zero or lower for seven straight days, Cold Weather Payments of £25 are issued.
As the UK awakens to blankets of areas covered with snow parts of the country this morning and temperatures of -15C, you might find that you qualify for a reward. Low-income individuals who receive specific benefits can receive Cold Weather Payments.
Most people should instantly receive the money, but occasionally you won't. Scotland no longer offers Cold Weather Payments; however, you may still be eligible for an annual £50 Winter Heating Payment.
