Britain's biggest mortgage lender says that average house prices fell by 0.6 percent in June, the third consecutive monthly decline.

LONDON: Britain's biggest mortgage lender says that average house prices fell by 0.6 percent in June, the third consecutive monthly decline.

Halifax, part of Lloyds Banking Group, said Thursday that an increasing number of homes for sale had depressed prices as demand remains low.

Halifax says house prices in June were 6.3 percent higher than a year earlier.
