The 'One-day' driving test initiative in the UAE is open till September
The vehicles and drivers licensing department at the General Command of Sharjah Police said that 194 applicants have benefitted from the "one-day test" driving licence initiative within two weeks across the emirate. The one-day test initiative integrates the "preliminary and city" driver's license test together in one day, instead of requiring applicants to attend for several days. The initiative, meant to shorten the time and effort in obtaining a driver's license, will continue until the end of September.

Here are conditions for taking the "one-day" driving licence

The applicant for the service must be over seventeen years and six months old.

The applicant has to open a traffic file through the MOI UAE (Ministry of Interior of United Arab Emirates) apps

Attend theoretical classes (in-person and online) and pass the test

The Sharjah police had launched 'one-day testing' initiative to obtain driver's license last month. It targets national service recruits and high school graduates by integrating "primary and city" driver's license tests together in one day instead of attending multiple days.

The first phase is to be done online, without in-person attendance, through the Ministry of the Interior application (MOI). It involves opening a file for issuing a new driver's license, attending theory classes, and after passing the theory test electronically.

The second phase, which is in-person, includes practical training sessions, and after passing training conditions set for the practical test. The Sharjah Police has urged national service recruits and high school graduates to take advantage of the initiative, which will last until the end of September 2023.
