The monthly fuel price for the month of September was announced by the UAE government on August 31. The announcement of the monthly fuel price is a policy of the UAE government that has been practised since 2015 in order to deregulate the fuel prices in line with global rates.

The country’s fuel price committee has recently been following the trend of reviewing the rates on the last day of every month. Reports show that retail fuel prices experienced a hike in the months of June and July due to the spike in oil prices. Again, the rates were cut down in August once the global fuel prices fell amid the fear of a slowdown and global recession in the Chinese economy.

In June, for the first time, the petrol price crossed Dh4 per litre in the UAE, which reached its peak in July. As a consequence of this hike, the UAE government cut down fuel prices by 60 fills per litre in August.
