The Qatari Ministry of Interior has announced that all traffic violations recorded on June 23 will be waived. This follows a day of intense regional unrest sparked by the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. The decision comes after Iran launched a barrage of missiles across US military installations in the Middle East, with Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar being among the primary targets.

The strikes came in retaliation for a US operation that deployed 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

On that day, Qatar's night sky lit up with incoming projectiles, which triggered alarm and panic among residents in Doha and surrounding areas.

Explosions were heard across the capital, and emergency response systems were activated as missile defense systems intercepted some of the attacks.

In this tense situation, many Qatari residents hurried to their homes to ensure the safety of their loved ones or rushed to their workplaces to fulfill their responsibilities, undermining the traffic rules.

In a statement, the Qatari Interior Ministry acknowledged the extraordinary circumstances of the day and said the waiver of traffic fines was a gesture of support for the public, many of whom were caught in unexpected and stressful situations during the attacks.

"This decision is a gesture of appreciation for the swift and responsible response shown by citizens and residents in promptly reaching their workplaces and service centers during pressing circumstances that required urgent movement from a broad segment of the public,” the ministry stated.
