Emirates to double number of flights on Dubai-London Heathrow route, hire cabin crew

Emirates will almost double the number of flights to London Heathrow from Dubai on a temporary basis to meet the demand during the busy winter season. The airline has announced it will operate an additional five-a-week service to London Heathrow starting from 31 October 2023 until 30 March 2024. Currently, Emirates serves London Heathrow with six daily A380 flights.

Emirates said the additional flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and will be served by Emirates’ wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which are fitted in a three-class configuration split between First, Business and Economy classes.


"Emirates flight EK41 will depart Dubai at 13:20hrs and arrive at London Heathrow at 17:20hrs, local time. The return flight, EK42, will depart London Heathrow at 20:15hrs and arrive in Dubai at 07:15hrs local time, the following day," the airline said in a statement.

Emirates currently serves the the UK with more than 125 weekly flights, including six times daily A380 service to London Heathrow; three times daily A380 service to Gatwick; twice daily service to Stansted; three times daily A380 service to Manchester; double daily service to Birmingham (including a daily A380 service); daily service to Newcastle; and a daily A380 service to Glasgow.

Emirates recently resumed its A380 service to Birmingham and Glasgow, double daily services to Stansted, and enhanced services to Newcastle and London Gatwick.

The airline is also hiring cabin crews as global travel continues to recover after the pandemic. Emirates’ cabin crew team recently crossed the milestone of 20,000 as the airline continues to recruit cabin crew globally to meet its planned growth trajectory. Since 2022, the airline has hosted recruitment events in 340 cities across 6 continents. The airline said it will host global recruitment events covering hundreds of cities through the year.

Tourism has rebounded in the emirate. Dubai welcomed a record 8.55 million international overnight visitors, compared to 8.36 million tourists in H1 2019, surpassing pre-pandemic visitation levels.
