Telecom firm goes green with free Solar Charger

It is a freebie with purpose arising out of a sense of responsibility towards environment, as a telecom company in Bahrain offers a free eco-friendly solar charger to its customers.

DUBAI: It is a freebie with purpose arising out of a sense of responsibility towards environment, as a telecom company in Bahrain offers a free eco-friendly solar charger to its customers.

The subscriber will receive a free solar charger valued at 12 Bahraini dinars ($31.83), in addition to registration worth 5 BD ($13.26). The Solar Charger based on new technology also helps frequent mobile users charge their gadgets regularly. The charger can also work by electricity if needed and can be used to charge MP3 players, cameras, iPods, besides mobile phones.

"Our creative marketing and product design teams strive to develop a continuous line-up of new offerings to meet the needs of our extensive customer base," Group Board Secretary and Company Spokesman of Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) Ahmed Al Janahi said.

"We are delighted to provide a useful gadget that not only benefits customers but also supports our initiative to be more environmentally aware," he said. Batelco is the Bahrain's leading telecom service provider with an estimated investment of $1.4 billion in the sector since 1981.
