Infotech company Tech Mahindra today announced that it has partnered with Falcorp to launch Tech Mahindra South Africa

The launch of Tech Mahindra South Africa follows an announcement in 2011 to reinforce its leadership and focus on its African operations, Tech Mahindra said in a statement here.
The customer target market for Tech Mahindra in South Africa is the telecom and media sector, it said.
The newly-formed entity will be a Level-3 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowered (B-BBEE) company.
Tech Mahindra South Africa will help create local job opportunities and invest heavily in skills development and employment over a period of 12 months, the statement said.
As part of the B-BEEE strategy, the new company will ensure around 65 per cent in local preferential procurement, a corporate social investment plan, as well as a leadership and internship programme, it added.
A dedicated talent exchange programme for the transfer of skills between India and South Africa will also be initiated.
Tech Mahindra will bring its full range of network and mobility offerings including of design, building, implementing and support for the telecom sector to the African information and communication technologies (ICT) sector, it said.
Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam together employ close to 300 associates in South Africa.

We intend to bring in our expertise around network, mobility, analytics, cloud and security (NMACS) with traditional application support and development to our customers in the region," Tech Mahindra Vice President (Sales and Operations - MEA) Girish Bhat said.
