Takanobu Ito to take over as Honda president, CEO

Japanese automaker Honda Motor's senior managing director Takanobu Ito will replace Takeo Fukui as CEO and president in June.

TOKYO: Japanese automaker Honda Motor said on Monday its senior managing director Takanobu Ito will replace Takeo Fukui as chief executive officer and president in June.

The company said in a statement that Ito "will become the seventh president and chief executive officer of Honda Motor effective in late June 2009."

"Takeo Fukui, the current president and CEO, will remain on the board and assume the post of director and advisor to Honda Motor," it said.
