Sony PSP sales top 10 mn in Japan
Sony has sold more than 10 mn PlayStation Portables (PSPs) in Japan since the launch, almost four years ago, industry figures showed on Wednesday.

TOKYO : Sony has sold more than 10 mn PlayStation Portables (PSPs) in Japan since the launch almost four years ago, industry figures showed on Wednesday.
The electronics giant has sold 10,005,546 handheld PSP machines in Japan since December 2004, said Enterbrain, a Japanese game industry research unit.
But the PSP lags behind the double-screen portable Nintendo DS, which sold 23 mn units between December 2004 and June 2008 in Japan, according to a Nintendo spokeswoman.
Nintendo has long dominated the market for handheld machines with its Game Boy and DS series and is also enjoying huge success with its Wii home video game system.
