Sony Ericsson head steps down, to be replaced by Japanese exec
The head of handset manufacturer Sony Ericsson is to step down and will be replaced by a Japanese executive from Sony Electronics USA, the company said on Tuesday.

STOCKHOLM: The head of handset manufacturer Sony Ericsson is to step down and will be replaced by a Japanese executive from Sony Electronics USA, the company said on Tuesday.
Miles Flint, the current chairman of Sony Ericsson, decided to resign after 17 years at Sony and Sony Ericsson in order to develop his own projects and to take a pause in his career.
He is to be replaced by Hideki Komiyama on November 1. But Flint, who has held his position since June 2004, will serve as an executive advisor to the new chairman until the end of the year.
Sony Ericsson is a joint venture created in 2001 between the Swedish group Ericsson, number one in mobile phone network technology, and Sony, the Japanese consumer electronics group.
