Seoul launches water taxis for tourists, commuters

The South Korean capital Seoul on Thursday will launch its first water taxi service along the Han River to ease rush hour congestion and give tourists an added attraction.

SEOUL: The South Korean capital Seoul on Thursday will launch its first water taxi service along the Han River to ease rush hour congestion and give tourists an added attraction.

The 10 taxis will run every 10-15 minutes during morning and evening rush hours but must be booked in advance at other times, the city government said.

Mayor Oh Se-hoon in July announced the Han River Renaissance project to transform Seoul into an attractive waterfront city.
