Senior official quits UB group
A senior official of the Vijay Mallya-led UB Group, Prakash Mirpuri, has resigned from the group.
"Yes, I have put in my papers, and am now awaiting acceptance of the same," Mirpuri told PTI here today. Mirpuri, however, did not give any reasons for his leaving the UB group.
"I have some offers on hand but have yet to take a call on them," he said. One of the offers Mirpuri is believed to have is from a leading Indian conglomerate based in Mumbai while the other is believed to be from a Delhi-based consumer durables company.
Mirpuri, however, remained tight-lipped on his future moves. An aviation industry source said that Mirpuri had been unhappy for quite some time now at the role he was playing in the group. "He has been planning a job-switch for some time now," the source said.
"For much of the time at UB, Mirpuri's role was just confined to messaging news to the media and inviting them for briefings. He felt his potential was being under-utilised at the group," the source added.
