Saudi Arabia says private sector to be allowed to import barley

Saudi Arabia, one of the world's largest barley buyers, had said in 2018 it would bring the private sector back into the trade.

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO said on Wednesday the private sector would be allowed to import barley into the kingdom.

SAGO did not provide further details when contacted by Reuters but said more would be announced soon.

Saudi Arabia, one of the world's largest barley buyers, had said in 2018 it would bring the private sector back into the trade.
