Sanyo to recall 280,000 units of washer-dryer again
Sanyo Electric Co said it will recall again some 280,000 units in nine models of washer-dryer as the repair work done upon their previous recall was insufficient.

OSAKA: Sanyo Electric Co said on Friday it will recall again some 280,000 units in nine models of washer-dryer as the repair work done upon their previous recall was insufficient.
The announcement came after one of the Top Open Drum washer-dryers caught fire and injured two people in Ibaraki Prefecture on September 3 due to a repair mistake during the previous recall.
The new recall is effectively the fifth one involving its washer-dryers.
Sanyo offered to replace about 166,000 out of the 280,000 washer-dryers with new ones.
