Samsung Electronics heiress busted with 230kg marijuana in luggage

A potential heir to the Samsung Electronics empire has been arrested in US after police found over 230 kilograms of marijuana in her luggage.

CALIFORNIA: A potential heir to the Samsung Electronics empire has been arrested in US after police found over 230 kilograms of marijuana in her luggage.

Lisette Lee was arrested by Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) officials at Port Columbus International Airport in Ohio.

She was flying from California to Columbus in a private jet when officials said that they becoming suspicious of her luggage.

Officials also confiscated three mobile phones, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and suspected drug ledgers that showed some 300,000 dollars in transactions.

The 28-year-old has been charged with conspiracy and possession of drugs with intent to distribute, Sky News reports.

She is being held without bail, and if convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to two million dollars.

DEA officials also questioned three other people, who Lee claimed were her secretary and bodyguards. They have been released pending possible indictments.
