More than a million accounts in the Japanese government-managed pension system for corporate employees may contain falsified information.

TOKYO: More than a million accounts in the Japanese government-managed pension system for corporate employees may contain falsified information, which could hurt current and future pensioners, government sources said.

Health, Labour and Welfare Minister Yoichi Masuzoe told a news conference that a sharp lowering of employees' monthly incomes, which are used as a benchmark to calculate their pension premiums, was found in 750,000 out of the 150 million computerized accounts in the "Kosei Nenkin" employees' pension system.
