OPEC under pressure to increase output

Some OPEC member states are under political pressure to increase oil output to aid the world economy, OPEC President Chakib Khelil said on Thursday.

VIENNA: Some OPEC member states are under political pressure to increase oil output to aid the world economy, OPEC President Chakib Khelil said on Thursday.

"Some members are more exposesd to political pressures...some implicit, some explicit," Khelil said, but declined to specify which members.

"OPEC neither wants nor has the ability to control prices," he said.
