Nokia Siemens wins IP network deal in Brazil

Telecommunications network gear maker Nokia Siemens Networks said on Friday it had won an order for IP network from Empresa de Infovias in Brazil, but did not disclose the value of the deal.

HELSINKI: Telecommunications network gear maker Nokia Siemens Networks said on Friday it had won an order for IP network from Empresa de Infovias in Brazil, but did not disclose the value of the deal.

"Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the Next Generation Network (NGN) for Empresa de Infovias S.A., enabling the operator to launch new, converged intranet, voice and data services," NSN said in a statement.

The new network is meant to be purely for business use, NSN said. Brazilian energy group Cemig owns Empresa de Infovias.a
