No changes made in visa system: UK

NEW DELHI: Britain on Thursday said no changes have been effected in its visa rules, denying a media report that the checks would get tougher in the wake of two Indians being suspected in two terror plots.

"We have a very robust system for checking visa applications and no changes have been brought in following the recent events in the UK (wherein two Indians were allegedly involved in failed terror attacks)," the British High Commission said in a statement here.

The High Commission's clarification came in response to a media report which suggested that visa rules could get tougher in Britain in the aftermath of two Indians being held for failed bombings in London and Glasgow.

Indian engineer Kafeel and his doctor brother Sabeel have been held in Britain for their suspected involvement in the failed terror attacks.
